Google Android due 23 September

Logo_android

Reuters have revealed that T-Mobile will be selling a mobile running Google Android by 23 September.

Google's next 'must have' is an open source operating system and is expected to make a huge splash in the mobile phone market, with the search giant hoping its approach will give them dominance in the mobile OS market.

"T-Mobile and Google will be making an announcement this month in New York City," its sources said – with the date of 23 September given.

Chrome proves that the Google brand is more popular than ever. It made a huge dent in the Internet Explorer market within a week of launch, and the integration of its web-based products and services into a mobile market will be enticing for us all.

First UK Art Exhibition Tour via iPhone

Iphoneklimt

For their new exhibition Tate Liverpool in the UK have incorporated the latest mobile technology to enhance the gallery experience. For the Gustav Klimt show you can download a vast amount of information as a podcast before you go, or connect to the gallery's wifi when you arrive and get access to exclusive photos, music, comments from curators, archive film footage and behind the scenes footage of the exhibition taking shape.

Design Week have reported that it's even increased average visit times from 45 minutes to three hours, and if you can't make it to the venue you can download the experience from the site.

I'm sure this is the start of things to come, hopefully other major galleries will take advantage of mobile technology and follow suit.

Google Talk for your iPhone

Just last week Google released Google Talk for the iPhone, this design is not only for the iPhone but for the iPod Touch as well. Talkiphone2What this means is that you can send your friends Gmail from your iPhone or iPod Touch and actively use the Google Talk application while you're on the move.

The way to use this is as follows: point your Safari browser to www.google.com/talk , (it would be a good idea to bookmark this page in your Safari browser) and follow the instructions.

There has to be differences from using Google Talk on your computer and from using it on the iPhone. "For instance, in order to receive instant messages with Google Talk on your iPhone, the application needs to be open in your Safari browser. When you navigate away to another browser window or application, your status will be changed to "unavailable" and your Google Talk session will be restarted when you return." said The Official Google Mobile Blog.

iPhone still a hit!

Iphone According to a report in the Telegraph today the base model of the iPhone has sold out in the UK, in under 6 months! The iPhone has proven itself to be a very popular accessory and it's not just the general public that prove this, but Google have also taken notice.

I say this because Google has today announced on the Official Google Reader blog that they have just released a brand new version of their popular iPhone software.  The new beta version of the reader is available to the public here. (Visit the site on your iPhone or any other mobile with advanced browsing features)

I hope all of our readers that have an iPhone will let me know how they find the new software.

iPhone in trouble...again?

Apple are reportedly being sued for infringing on Romek Figa's patented caller ID system. Figa claims that he approached Apple regarding the caller ID functionality that he patented in 1990.

Figa approached Apple in July last year to negotiate a fee for the use of his patented technology, but the Silicon Valley giants declined.

The suit reads: "Apple is actively engaged in acts of direct infringement of the '496 patent."

And further states that: "Apple's infringement has been and continues to be willful and deliberate. Apple will continue to engage in such acts unless enjoined by this court."
